Maths and science jokes your class will groan at, on fleece warm enough for break duty in February.Three picks from the staffroom favourites.
Every maths teacher has done it: one quick aside, and twenty minutes later the lesson plan is a distant memory. This one owns it, with a real tangent line meeting a real curve at exactly one point.
The students who laugh are the ones who were paying attention.

Atomic number 123, symbol Wtf. It's the reaction every science teacher has seen at least once, usually just after someone ignored the safety briefing. Clean enough for parents' evening, funny enough that the sixth form will ask where you got it.
Shop the SurpriseThe square root of minus four is not two, and the joke only works if you know why. It's a quiet test for the back row: the ones who get it are the ones heading for further maths.
Good for the staffroom, the open evening and every lesson on imaginary numbers.
